The funding priority "Research for climate protection and protection from climate impacts" is complemented by a supportive process that particularly focuses on communication. This supportive process is carried out by the Research Unit and Environment, Energy, Resources of the Cologne Institute for Economic Research (IW Köln). Through this website, a quarterly electronic newsletter, publications, lectures and events, the project ideas and research findings will be communicated in cooperation with the project partners. The addressees are representatives of firms and economic associations, scientists and policy makers as well as the interested public. The supportive process also aims at facilitating communication between business and academics and enhancing the exchange of information between the projects.

Apart from that, the objective of the supportive process is to find opportunities for broadly adopting the developed strategies, procedures and technologies. This is pursued in cooperation with experts from business and science. Practice-related research and ways of applying the findings beyond the funded projects and the industries involved are in the focus of the supportive process.
